가장 내적 천국 천사들의 생각과 느낌과 말은 중간 천국의 것을 훨씬 초월하기 때문에, 중간 천국 천사들에게는 전혀 지각되지 않는다. 그러나 주님이 원하시면 가장 내적 천국으로부터 그보다 낮은 천국에 무언가 불꽃 같은 것이 나타나고, 중간 천국의 생각과 느낌은 가장 외적 천국에 무언가 광채 같은 것으로, 또 때로는 희거나 다채롭게 빛나는 구름 같은 것으로 나타난다. 이 구름의 상승, 강하, 모양 등에서 어느 정도는 그 내용을 알 수 있다. The thoughts and affections as well as the speech of the angels of the inmost heaven are never perceived in the middle heaven, because they so transcend what is there. But when it pleases the Lord there is seen in the lower heavens from that source something like a flame, and from the thoughts and affections in the middle heaven there is seen in the outmost heaven something luminous, and sometimes a cloud glowing white and variegated. From that cloud, its ascent, descent, and form, what is being said there is in some measure known.
