한 천국과 다른 천국, 또는 한 천국의 공동체와 다른 천국의 공동체는 오직 주님에 의해서만 결합된다. 결합은 직접 입류와 간접 입류에 의해 이루어지는데, 직접 입류는 주님 자신으로부터, 간접 입류는 보다 높은 천국으로부터 낮은 천국으로 순차적으로 이루어진다.주153 이 입류에 의한 천국 간의 결합은 주님으로부터만 이루어지기 때문에, 위쪽 천국의 천사는 아래쪽 천국 공동체를 내려다보거나 그곳의 누구와 대화하지 않도록 극히 조심하게 되어 있다. 만일 내려다보거나 대화하면 즉시 그 천사는 지성과 지혜가 상실된다. 그 이유는 다음과 같다. 천국에 세 층이 있듯이 천사의 생명에도 세 층이 있다. 가장 내적 천국의 천사들은 생명의 제삼 층, 즉 가장 내적 단계가 열려 있고, 반면 이 층과 일 층은 닫혀 있다. 그 아래 천국 천사들은 생명의 제이 층이 열려 있고, 삼 층과 일 층은 닫혀 있다. 가장 낮은 천국 천사들은 일 층만 열려 있고, 이 층과 삼 층은 닫혀 있다. 따라서 삼 층 천국의 천사가 이 층 천국을 내려다보고, 그곳의 누군가와 대화를 하는 순간, 그의 제삼 단계는 즉시 닫혀버린다. 그리고 그의 지혜는 그 단계에 달려 있기 때문에, 그 단계가 닫히면 그의 지혜도 사라진다. 그에게는 첫 단계, 둘째 단계에 속한 것이 하나도 없기 때문이다. 이것이 다음과 같은 주의 말씀이 의미하는 바이다. One heaven is joined with another, or a society of one heaven with the society of another, by the Lord alone, both by direct and by mediate influx, directly from himself, and mediately through the higher heavens in order into the lower.153 As the conjunction of the heavens by this inflowing is from the Lord alone there is a most careful precaution against any angel of a higher heaven looking down into a society of a lower heaven and talking with anyone there; for the angel is thus immediately deprived of his intelligence and wisdom. The reason of this also shall be told. As there are three degrees of heaven, so each angel has three degrees of life, those in the inmost heaven having the third or inmost degree open, while the second and first degrees are closed; those in the middle heaven having the second degree opened and the first and third closed; and those in the lowest heaven having the first degree opened and the second and third closed. Consequently, as soon as an angel of the third heaven looks down into a society of the second heaven and talks with anyone there his third degree is at once closed; and as his wisdom resides in that degree, if that is closed he is deprived of his wisdom, for he has none in the second or first degree. This is what is meant by the words of the Lord in Matthew:

 

지붕 위에 있는 자는 집 안에 있는 물건을 가지러 내려 가지 말며 밭에 있는 자는 겉옷을 가지러 뒤로 돌이키지 말지어다 (마24:17, 18) He that is on the housetop, let him not go down to take what is in his house; and he that is in the field, let him not turn back to take his garment (Matt. 24:17, 18).

 

그리고 누가복음 말씀 And in Luke:

 

그 날에 만일 사람이 지붕 위에 있고 그의 세간이 그 집 안에 있으면 그것을 가지러 내려가지 말 것이요 밭에 있는 자도 그와 같이 뒤로 돌이키지 말 것이니라 롯의 처를 기억하라 (눅17:31, 32) In that day he that shall be on the housetop and his goods in the house, let him not go down to take them away; and he that is in the field let him not turn back. Remember Lot’s wife (Luke 17:31, 32).

 

 

주153. 주님으로부터 오는 직접 입류와 천국 간 간접 입류가 있다. There is direct influx from the Lord and mediate influx through heaven (n. 6063, 6307, 6472, 9682, 9683). 만물의 가장 작은 것에까지도 흐르는 주님의 직접 입류가 있다. There is a direct influx of the Lord into the minutest parts of all things (n. 6058, 6474–6478, 8717, 8728). 천국 간 흐르는 주님의 간접 입류 Of the mediate influx of the Lord through the heavens (n. 4067, 6982, 6985, 6996).
