각 천국에는 이렇게 형태가 있으며, 천사들이 그 형태에 따라 교통하고, 그들의 생각과 애정이 확장되며, 그에 따라 지성과 지혜를 지닌다. 그러나 천국과 천국 사이의 교통은 이와 다르다. 즉 삼층, 가장 내적 천국과 이층, 중간 천국 사이, 그리고 이층과 일층, 가장 외적 천국 사이의 교통이 이루어지는 방식은 이와 다르다. 이들 천국간의 교통은 교통이라 하지 말고, 유입(流入, influx)이라고 해야 한다. 이제 이 점에 대해 설명하겠다. 서로 구별되는 세 천국이 있다는 것은 앞부분의 해당 장 (HH.29-40)에서 설명했다. In each heaven there is such a form, and in accordance with it the angels have communication and extension of thoughts and affections, and thus in accordance with it they have intelligence and wisdom. But the communication of one heaven with another is different, that is, of the third or inmost with the second or middle, and of this with the first or outmost. But the communication between the heavens should not be called communication but influx. About this something shall now be said. That there are three heavens distinct from each other can be seen above in its own chapter (n. 29–40).
