아무도 시스템과 무관한 자비로 천국에 들어갈 수 없다

그러나 하나님의 자비가 무엇인지 먼저 생각해 보자. 하나님의 자비는 인류 전체를 향한, 그들을 구원하시고자 하는 순수한 긍휼이다. 모든 사람을 향한 그 자비는 그치지 않으며, 결코 아무에게서도 떠나지 않는다. 그러므로 구원될 수 있는 사람은 누구나 다 구원받는 것이다. 그러나 아무도 하나님의 방법에 의해서가 아니면 구원될 수 없다.그 방법이란 주께서 성경 말씀 속에 계시하신 신적 진리이며, 신적 진리는 사람이 구원받기 위해서는 어떻게 살아야 하는가를 가르치는 것이다. 그 진리를 통해 주님은 사람을 천국으로 이끄시고, 또 그 진리를 통해 사람 속에 천국의 삶을 심어주신다. 주님은 이것을 모든 사람에게 행하신다. 그러나 천국의 삶은 사람이 악을 제거하기 전에는 심어지지 않는다. 악이 가로막기 때문이다. 그러므로 사람이 악을 제거하는 정도만큼 그는 순수 자비로 말미암아 신적 방법을 통해 주의 인도를 받는 것이다. 주의 인도하심은 사람의 유아기부터 이 세상 삶을 마칠 때까지, 그리고 죽은 후 영원까지 계속된다. 하나님의 자비는 바로 이것을 의미하는 것이다. 따라서 주의 자비는 순수 자비이지만, 방법을 무시한 자비가 아니며, 사람의 삶이 어떠했든 구원하고 싶으면 모든 사람을 구원하는 그런 자비도 아니라는 사실이 명백해졌을 것이다. But first let us consider what the Divine mercy is. The divine mercy is pure mercy toward the whole human race, to save it; and it is also unceasing toward every man, and is never withdrawn from anyone; so that everyone is saved who can be saved. And yet no one can be saved except by Divine means, which means the Lord reveals in the Word. The Divine means are what are called Divine truths, which teach how man must live in order to be saved. By these truths the Lord leads man to heaven, and by them he implants in man the life of heaven. This the Lord does for all. But the life of heaven can be implanted in no one unless he abstains from evil, for evil obstructs. So far, therefore, as man abstains from evil he is led by the Lord out of pure mercy by his Divine means, and this from infancy to the end of his life in the world and afterwards to eternity. This is what is meant by the Divine mercy. And from this it is evident that the mercy of the Lord is pure mercy, but not apart from means, that is, it does not look to saving all out of mere good pleasure, however they may have lived.
