그곳의 모든 가르침은 말씀에서 도출된 교리를 바탕으로 이루어진다. 교리 없이 말씀만을 바탕으로 가르치지 않는다. 기독교인들은 성서의 내적 의미와 완전히 일치라는 천국 교리로 가르침을 받는다. 모하메드 교도나 이교도 등 다른 모든 사람은 그들의 이해 능력에 맞는 교리로 가르친다. 이 교리가 천국 교리와 다른 유일한 점은, 세상에서 그들의 삶을 이끌었던 그들 종교의 선한 요소에 부합하는 도덕적 삶을 통해 영적 삶을 가르친다는 점이다. All teaching there is from doctrine drawn from the Word, and not from the Word apart from doctrine. Christians are taught from heavenly doctrine, which is in entire agreement with the internal sense of the Word. All others, as the Mohammedans and heathen, are taught from doctrines suited to their apprehension, which differ from heavenly doctrine only in this, that spiritual life is taught by means of moral life in harmony with the good tenets of their religion from which they had derived their life in the world.
