사후 사람의 첫 번째 상태

The First State of Man after Death

세상을 떠나 영계로 오는 모든 영은 천국에 있는 공동체나 지옥에 있는 공동체에 연결되는데, 이때 그들의 내면으로만 연결된다. 그들이 외면을 입고 있는 동안은 아무도 그 내면을 알 수 없다. 외면이 내면을 덮고 감추기 때문이다. 내적으로 악한 사람들이 특히 더 그렇다. 그러나 나중에 그들이 둘째 상태에 들어가면 그들의 악이 드러난다. 그때는 외면은 잠재워지고, 내면이 열리기 때문이다. All spirits that arrive from the world are connected with some society in heaven or some society in hell, and yet only as regards their interiors; and so long as they are in exteriors their interiors are manifested to no one, for externals cover and conceal internals, especially in the case of those who are in interior evil. But afterwards, when they come into the second state, their evils become manifest, because their interiors are then opened and their exteriors laid asleep.
