천국의 결혼

Marriages in Heaven

결혼애는 종교가 서로 다른 사람들 사이에도 있을 수 없다. 한쪽이 가진 진리가 상대의 선과 맞지 않으므로 두 서로 다른 부조화한 선과 진리로는 한 마음을 이룰 수 없다. 그러므로 그들의 사랑은 영적 근원에서 나온 것이 전혀 아니다. 그들이 조화를 이루고 산다면 그것은 오직 자연적 차원에서일 뿐이다.주245 그렇기 때문에 천국에서의 결혼은 같은 공동체 내에서만 이루어진다. 한 공동체의 구성원들은 비슷한 선과 진리 안에 있고, 자기 공동체 밖의 사람과는 교류하지 않기 때문이다. 한 사회 내 모든 사람의 선과 진리는 비슷하며, 그 사회 바깥 사람들과 다르다는 것은 앞에서(41항 이후) 설명했다. 이스라엘 민족의 결혼이 동족끼리만, 특히 가문 내에서만 이루어진 것도 이것을 상징한 것이다. Nor can marriage love exist between two partners belonging to different religions, because the truth of the one does not agree with the good of the other; and two unlike and discordant kinds of good and truth cannot make one mind out of two; and in consequence the love of such does not have its origin in anything spiritual. If they live together in harmony it is solely on natural grounds.245 And this is why in the heavens marriages are found only with those who are in the same society, because such are in like good and truth and not with those outside of the society. It may be seen above (n. 41 seq.) that all there in a society are in like good and truth, and differ from those outside the society. This was represented in the Israelitish nation by marriages being contracted within tribes, and particularly within families, and not outside of them.

 

 

주245. 종교가 다른 사람들 간 결혼은 허용될 수 없다. 그 내면에 비슷한 선과 진리 간 결합이 전혀 있을 수 없기 때문이다(AC.8998). Marriages between those of different religions are not permissible, because there can be no conjunction of like good and truth in the interiors (n. 8998).
