천국과 지옥은 인류로 말미암는다

더욱이 신적 질서에 대해 배우고 나면, 누구나 사람은 천사가 되기 위해 창조되었다는 것을 이해할 수 있을 것이다. 그 질서의 가장 외적인 것이 사람 안에 있고 (304항), 거기서 천국의 지혜와 천사의 지혜의 본질이 형태를 갖추고, 새로워지며 증가할 수 있기 때문이다. 신적 질서는 결코 중도에서 그쳐 가장 외적인 차원이 결여된 어떤 것을 만드는 일이 없다. 중도에서는 아직 신적 질서가 완전히 이루어진 상태가 아니기 때문이다. 오직 가장 외적인 차원에 이르기까지 계속 진행되는 것이다. 가장 외적인 차원에 다다르면 형상을 갖추고, 그 차원에 갖춰져 있는 방법들을 통해 새로워지고 늘어날 수 있다. 늘어나는 것은 자손을 낳음으로 이루어진다. 그러므로 천국의 모종밭은 가장 외적인 차원에 있다. Moreover, anyone who has been taught about Divine order can understand that man was created to become an angel, because the outmost of order is in him (n. 304), in which what pertains to heavenly and angelic wisdom can be brought into form and can be renewed and multiplied. Divine order never stops midway to form there a something apart from an outmost, for it is not in its fullness and completion there; but it goes on to the outmost; and when it is in its outmost it takes on its form, and by means there collected it renews itself and produces itself further, which is accomplished through procreations. Therefore the seed-ground of heaven is in the outmost.
