천국과 인류의 결합

The Conjunction of Heaven with the Human Race

주께서 사람을 영들을 통해서 다스리시는 이유는 사람이 천국의 질서 안에 있지 않기 때문이다. 그것은 사람이 지옥에서 오는 것인, 온갖 악의 상태를 지니고 태어나며, 그래서 신적 질서에 완전히 반대되는 상태로 태어나기 때문이다. 따라서 사람은 질서 안으로 회복되어야 하며, 이것은 영들을 통해서 간접적으로만 이루어질 수 있다. 만일 사람이 선한 상태로, 천국의 질서에 맞는 상태로 태어난다면 경우은 달라질 것이다. 그러면 주께서 영들을 통하지 않고 질서 자체에 의해, 즉 보편적 입류를 통해서 사람을 다스리실 것이다. 이 보편적 입류를 통해 사람의 생각과 의지에서 나오는 행위, 즉 말과 행동이 다스려진다. 말과 행동은 자연적 질서에 따르기 때문에, 사람에게 연합된 영들은 말과 행동에 있어서 사람과 공통되는 것이 없다. 동물들도 이 영계로부터의 보편적 입류에 의해 다스려진다. 동물들은 자기 생명의 질서 속에 있고, 합리적 기능이 없으므로 그 질서를 변질시키거나 파괴할 능력이 없기 때문이다.주206 사람과 동물들의 차이점에 대해서는 이미 설명했다 (AC.39). Man is governed by the Lord through spirits because he is not in the order of heaven, for he is born into evils which are of hell, thus into the complete opposite of Divine order; consequently he needs to be brought back into order, and this can only be done mediately by means of spirits. It would be otherwise if man were born into the good that is in accord with the order of heaven; then he would be governed by the Lord not through spirits, but by means of the order itself, thus by means of general influx. By means of this influx man is governed in respect to whatever goes forth from his thought and will into act, that is, in respect to speech and acts; for both of these proceed in harmony with natural order, and therefore with these the spirits associated with man have nothing in common. Animals also are governed by means of this general influx from the spiritual world, because they are in the order of their life, and animals have not been able to pervert and destroy that order because they have no rational faculty.206 What the difference between man and beasts is may be seen above (n. 39).

The difference between men and beasts is that men are capable of being raised up by the Lord to Himself, of thinking about the Divine, loving it, and being thereby conjoined to the Lord, from which they have eternal life; but it is otherwise with beasts (n. 4525, 6323, 9231). 짐승들은 그들 생명의 질서 안에 있다. 그들은 그들 본성에 맞는 것들 안으로 태어난다. 그러나 사람은 다르다. 사람은 그래서 반드시 지적 수단들을 통해서 생명의 질서 안으로 인도되어야만 한다 (AC.637, 5850, 6323). Beasts are in the order of their life, and are therefore born into things suitable to their nature, but man is not, and he must therefore be led into the order of his life by intellectual means (n. 637, 5850, 6323). 일반 입류에 따라, 사람의 사고는 말이, 사람의 의지는 행동이 된다 (AC.5862, 5990, 6192, 6211).
