천국 평화의 상태

The State of Peace in Heaven

천국의 평화는 천사들의 본질적인 선을 가장 내적으로 감화하는 신적 축복이기 때문에, 천사들이 평화를 확실하게 느끼는 것은 오직 그들의 생명에 속한 선함의 상태에 있을 때 진심으로 느끼는 기쁨, 또 그들의 선과 부합되는 진리를 들을 때 느끼는 즐거움, 그리고 선과 진리가 하나 된 것을 감지할 때 느끼는 기쁨을 통해서만 가능하다. 그래도 평화는 그들 삶의 모든 생각과 행동 안으로 흘러들며 거기서 외적 형체로까지 기쁨으로 나타난다. Because the peace of heaven is the Divine inmostly affecting with blessedness the veriest good in angels, it can be clearly perceived by them only in the delight of their hearts when they are in the good of their life, in the pleasure with which they hear truth that agrees with their good, and in gladness of mind when they perceive the conjunction of good and truth. From this it flows into all the acts and thoughts of their life, and there presents itself as joy, even in outward appearance.

 

[2] 그러나 각 천국은 그 구성원의 순진성에 따라서 평화의 양과 질이 다르다. 순진성은 평화를 동반하기 때문이다. 앞에서 말했듯 천국의 선은 순진성에서 비롯되고, 그 선의 모든 기쁨은 평화에서 비롯되는 것이다. 그러므로 바로 전 장에서 순진성에 대해 설명한 내용은 평화에도 그대로 적용된다고 할 수 있다. 순진성과 평화는 선함과 그 기쁨이 결합된 것과 똑같이 결합되어 있기 때문이다. 실제로 모든 선한 것은 기쁨으로 느껴지고, 모든 즐거움은 선으로 인식되는 것이다. 이 사실을 통해 우리는 삽층천인 가장 내적인 천국 천사들은 셋째 단계의 평화, 즉 가장 내적인 평화를 누리고, 그보다 낮은 천국들의 천사들은 낮은 단계의 평화를 누린다는 것을 알 수 있다 (280항 참조). But peace in the heavens differs in quality and quantity in agreement with the innocence of those who are there; since innocence and peace walk hand in hand; for every good of heaven, as said above, is from innocence, and every delight of that good is from peace. Evidently, then, the same that has been said in the foregoing chapter about the state of innocence in the heavens may be said here of the state of peace there, since innocence and peace are conjoined like good and its delight; for good is felt in its delight, and delight is known from its good. This being so, it is evident that angels of the inmost or third heaven are in the third or inmost degree of peace, because they are in the third or inmost degree of innocence; and that angels of the lower heavens are in a less degree of peace, because they are in a less degree of innocence (see above n. 280).

 

[3] 유아들을 보면 선이 그 기쁨을 동반하듯 순진함이 평화를 동반한다는 것을 읽을 수 있다. 그들은 순진하기 때문에 또한 평화롭다. 또 평화롭게 때문에 그들에게는 모든 것이 놀이가 된다. 그러나 유아기의 평화는 외적인 평화다. 내적인 평화는 내적인 순진함과 마찬가지로 오직 지혜로만 가능하다. 따라서 오직 선과 진리의 결합에서만 찾아볼 수 있다. 이 결합이 지혜의 원천이기 때문이다. 천국의 평화, 즉 천사들의 평화는 그의 진리가 선과 하나 됨으로써 지혜로워진, 그래서 하나님 안에서 만족함을 느끼는 사람들에게도 깃든다. 그러나 이 평화는 그들이 이 세상에 사는 동안은 내면에 감춰져 있다. 그러다가 육신을 벗고 천국에 들어가면 내면이 열리기 때문에 그 평화가 나타난다. That innocence and peace go together like good and its delight can be seen in little children, who are in peace because they are in innocence, and because they are in peace are in their whole nature full of play. Yet the peace of little children is external peace; while internal peace, like internal innocence, is possible only in wisdom, and for this reason only in the conjunction of good and truth, since wisdom is from that conjunction. Heavenly or angelic peace is also possible in men who are in wisdom from the conjunction of good and truth, and who in consequence have a sense of content in God; nevertheless, while they live in the world this peace lies hidden in their interiors, but it is revealed when they leave the body and enter heaven, for their interiors are then opened.
