천국의 글

천국에 글이 존재하게 하신 것은 말씀이 있게 하기 위한 주님의 섭리이다. 말씀은 그 본질이 신적 진리이고, 신적 진리는 사람들에게나 천사들에게나 모든 천국적 지혜의 근원이 된다. 왜냐하면, 말씀은 주께서 하나하나 불러주듯 말씀하신 것이고, 주께서 하신 말씀은 모든 천국들을 차례로 거쳐 사람에게 종착되기 때문이다. 내려오면서 말씀은 천사들의 지혜와 사람들의 지성에 알맞게 변화한다. 그렇게 해서 천사들에게도 말씀이 있고, 지상의 사람들처럼 말씀을 읽으며, 거기서 교리를 도출하고, 그 교리로 설교도 하는 것이다(HH.221). 그들의 말씀은 성경 말씀과 똑같은 말씀이다. 그러나 그들의 말씀에는 자연적 의미, 즉 우리가 가진 글자의 뜻은 없고, 단지 그 속뜻인 영적 의미가 있다. 이 속뜻이 어떤 것인지는 소책자 ‘계시록의 흰말’(White Horse spoken of in Revelation)에서 설명했다. The existence of writings in the heavens is a provision of the Lord for the sake of the Word; for the Word in its essence is Divine truth, and from it is all heavenly wisdom, both with men and with angels; for the Word was dictated by the Lord, and what is dictated by the Lord passes through all the heavens in order and terminates with man. Thereby it is adapted both to the wisdom of angels and the intelligence of men. Thereby, too, the angels have a Word, and read it the same as men do on the earth, and also draw from it their doctrinals, and preach from it (n. 221). It is the same Word; but its natural sense, which is the sense of the letter with us, does not exist in heaven, but only the spiritual sense, which is its internal sense. What this sense is can be seen in the small treatise White Horse (spoken of in Revelation).
