천국의 글

Writings in Heaven

천사들이 말을 하고, 그 말이 낱말로 이루어져 있기 때문에, 그들에게는 또한 글이 있다. 그들은 마음속에 있는 것을 말로 표현하듯 글로도 표현한다. 때로 나는 이 세상 원고와 똑같이 글씨가 써 있는 종이나 활자가 인쇄된 것 같은 종이를 받아 보았다. 나는 그것을 비슷하게 읽을 수는 있었지만, 그 의미는 한두 단어 이상 이해하는 것이 허락되지 않았다. 그 이유는, 사람이 천국의 글로 가르침을 받는 것이 하나님의 질서에 어긋나기 때문이다. 사람은 오직 말씀으로만 배워야 한다. 말씀을 통해서만 천국과 지상이 결합되기 때문이고, 그렇게 해서 주님과 사람이 결합되기 때문이다. 천국 문서를 보았다는 것을 에스겔도 기록하고 있다. As the angels have speech, and their speech consists of words, they also have writings; and by writing as well as by speech they give expression to what is in their minds. At times I have had papers sent to me, traced with written words precisely like manuscripts in the world, and others like printed sheets; and I was able to read them in a like way, but was allowed to get from them only an idea here and there; for the reason that it is not in accordance with Divine order for man to be taught by writings from heaven; but he must be taught by means of the Word only; for it is only by means of the Word that there is communication and conjunction of heaven with the world, thus of the Lord with man. That papers written in heaven were seen also by the prophets is shown in Ezekiel:

 

9내가 보니 보라 한 손이 나를 향하여 펴지고 보라 그 안에 두루마리 책이 있더라 10그가 그것을 내 앞에 펴시니 그 안팎에 글이 있는데 그 위에 애가와 애곡과 재앙의 말이 기록되었더라 (겔2:9, 10) When I looked, behold a hand was put forth by a spirit unto me, and a roll of a book was therein which he unrolled in my sight; it was written on the front and on the back (Ezek. 2:9, 10).

 

또 요한은 이렇게 기록했다. And in John:

 

내가 보매 보좌에 앉으신 이의 오른손에 두루마리가 있으니 안팎으로 썼고 일곱 인으로 봉하였더라 (계5:1) I saw upon the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the back, sealed up with seven seals (Rev. 5:1).
