천국 안의 다스림

Governments in Heaven

주의 영적 나라에는 다양한 형태의 다스림이 있다. 공동체마다 다스림의 방식이 다르다. 다스리는 방식은 각 공동체가 수행하는 역할에 맞게 형성되고, 각 공동체의 역할은 인체 내의 모든 것 중 그 공동체가 상응하는 것의 기능과 일치한다. 체내 조직의 다양성은 잘 알려져 있다. 심장과 폐, 간, 췌장, 비장, 그리고 각 감관기관의 기능이 다 다르다. 인체 내에서 이 기관들이 각기 다른 임무를 수행하듯이, 가장 큰 사람인 천국 안의 공동체들이 수행하는 임무도 다양하다. 그 공동체들이 이 체내기관과 상응하기 때문이다. 천국의 모든 것과 사람의 모든 것은 상응한다는 것은 앞의 해당 장에서 밝혔다 (HH.87-102). 그러나 천국의 모든 다스림 방식에는 공통점이 있다. 그것은 바로 전체의 유익을 목적으로 하고, 그 안에서 개인의 유익을 추구한다는 점이다.주159 그 이유는 천국 전체의 모든 사람은 주의 보호 아래 있으며, 주는 모든 사람을 사랑하시므로 그 신적 사랑으로 인해 공동선이 있도록 정하시고, 개인은 공동선에서 자기 몫의 선을 받도록 정하셨기 때문이다. 더욱이 개인은 그가 공동선을 사랑하는 정도에 따라서 선을 받는다. 그가 공동선을 사랑하면 전체와 개개인을 사랑하는 것이고, 그 사랑은 주의 사랑이므로 그 정도만큼 주께 사랑을 받고, 선을 받기 때문이다. In the Lord’s spiritual kingdom there are various forms of government, differing in different societies, the variety being in accord with the functions performed by the societies; and the functions of these are in accord with the functions of all things in man to which they correspond. That these are various is well known, the heart having one function, the lungs another, the liver another, the pancreas and spleen another, and each sensory organ another. As in the body these organs perform various services, so there are various services pertaining to the societies in the greatest man, which is heaven, for the societies there correspond to these organs. That there is a correspondence of all things of heaven with all things of man may be seen in its own chapter above (n. 87–102). But all these forms of government agree in this, that they look to the public good as their end, and in that good to the good of the individual.159 And this is so because everyone in the whole heaven is under the auspices of the Lord, who loves all, and from Divine love ordains that there shall be a common good, from which each individual shall receive his own good. Each one, moreover, receives good according as he loves the common good; for so far as he loves the common good he loves all and everyone; and as that love is love of the Lord he is to that extent loved by the Lord, and good comes to him.

 

 

주159. 모든 사람과 공동체, 뿐만 아니라 자기 나라와 교회와, 그리고 범우주적 의미에서 주님의 나라는 일종의 이웃이며, 이들 상태에 맞춰 선을 사랑하는 마음으로 이들에게 선을 행하는 것이 곧 이웃 사랑이다. 이웃은 이들의 선, 곧 반드시 상의 되어야 할 공동선이다. Every man and every community, also one’s country and the church and in the universal sense the kingdom of the Lord, is a neighbor, and to do good to these from love of good in accordance with their state is to love the neighbor; that is, the neighbor is the good of these, which is the common good that must be consulted (n. 6818–6824, 8123). 사회적 선 또한, 그러니까 정의 또한 하나의 이웃이다. Civil good also, which is justice, is a neighbor (n. 2915, 4730, 8120–8123). 그래서 이웃 사랑은 인간 삶의 하나에서 열까지, 모든 것에 확장된다. 선을 사랑하는 것, 그리고 선과 진리에 관한 사랑으로 선을 행하는 것, 또한 모든 역할과 모든 일에 정의에 대한 사랑으로 정의를 행하는 것, 이 모두가 이웃 사랑이다. Therefore charity toward the neighbor extends itself to all things and each thing of the life of man; and loving good and doing good from love of good and truth, and also doing what is just from a love of what is just in every function and in every work, is loving the neighbor (n. 2417, 8121–8124).
