천국 안의 다스림

천국은 여러 사회 공동체로 나뉘어 있고, 큰 공동체는 수십만의 천사들로 구성되어 있기 때문에(HH.50), 그리고 한 공동체 내에서도 구성원들의 선함은 같지만 지혜는 같지 않기 때문에(HH.43), 그곳에 다스림이 있어야 함은 당연하다. 왜냐하면 질서가 유지되어야 하고, 질서에 속한 모든 것이 지켜져야 하기 때문이다. 그러나 천국마다 다스림이 다 다르다. 주의 천적 나라를 이루는 공동체들 안의 다스림은 주의 영적 나라를 이루는 공동체들 안의 다스림과 다르다. 또 각 공동체의 역할에 따라 다스림 체제가 다르다. 그렇지만 천국에는 서로에 대한 사랑이라는 다스림 외에 다른 다스림은 없다. 서로 사랑으로 이루어지는 다스림이 천국적 다스림이다. As heaven is divided into societies, and the larger societies consist of some hundreds of thousands of angels (n. 50), and all within a society, although in like good, are not in like wisdom (n. 43), it must needs follow that governments exist there, since order must be observed, and all things of order must be guarded. But the governments in the heavens differ; they are of one sort in societies that constitute the Lord’s celestial kingdom, and of another sort in the societies that constitute his spiritual kingdom; they differ also in accordance with the functions of the several societies. Nevertheless, no other government than the government of mutual love is possible in the heavens, and the government of mutual love is heavenly government.
