자기 내면에 관하여 모든 사람은 영이다

그러나 사람이 그의 내면에 드는 상태, 즉 앞에서 말한 두 경우처럼, 영의 상태에 있게 되는 것은 아주 예외적인 일이다. 단지 그 존재가 교회 안에 알려져 있기 때문에, 그 상태가 어떤 것인지 알 수 있도록 내게 허락된 것이다. 그러나 영들과 말하고, 영으로서 그들과 함께 있는 것은 내가 온전히 깨어 있는 의식 상태에서 허락된 것이고, 지금까지 여러 해 동안 계속되어 오고 있다. But these two states of man, which are his states when he is in his interiors, or what is the same, when he is in the spirit, are extraordinary; but as they are states known about in the church, they were exhibited to me only that I might know what they are. But it has been granted to me now for many years to speak with spirits and to be with them as one of them, even in full wakefulness of the body.
