천국의 기쁨과 행복

천국의 기쁨 자체, 그 본질 그대로는 말로 표현할 수 없다. 그것이 천사들 생명의 가장 내적인 차원에 속해 있고, 거기서 그들의 모든 생각과 애정 속으로 흐르며, 또 거기서 그들의 말과 행동의 모든 세세한 부분에까지 흘러들기 때문이다. 그들의 내면이 활짝 열려 자유로이 즐거움과 기쁨을 받아들이고, 거기서 가장 미세한 섬유에까지 전달되어 전신에 공급된다고 할 수 있다. 따라서 이 기쁨은 형언할 수 없을 정도로 크게 지각되고 느껴진다. 가장 내적인 차원에서 시작된 것은 거기서 파생된 모든 세부 안으로 흘러 들어갈 때 외적 차원으로 갈수록 점점 더 증가하기 때문이다. 아직 천국에 올라가기 전 상태여서 그 기쁨을 모르는 선한 영들이 천사의 사랑의 영향권에서 그 기쁨의 느낌을 맛보면 황홀하여 정신을 잃는다. 이것은 천국 기쁨을 경험해 보고 싶어 하는 사람들에게 종종 일어나는 일이다. Heavenly joy itself, such as it is in its essence, cannot be described, because it is in the inmost of the life of angels and therefrom in everything of their thought and affection, and from this in every particular of their speech and action. It is as if the interiors were fully opened and unloosed to receive delight and blessedness, which are distributed to every least fiber and thus through the whole. Thus the perception and sensation of this joy is so great as to be beyond description, for that which starts from the inmosts flows into every particular derived from the inmosts, propagating itself away with increase toward the exteriors. Good spirits who are not yet in that joy, because not yet raised up into heaven, when they perceive a sense of that joy from an angel from the sphere of his love, are filled with such delight that they come as it were into a delicious trance. This sometimes happens with those who desire to know what heavenly joy is.
