천국의 기쁨과 행복

천국은 본질적으로 즐거움으로 가득 차 있으며, 그 자체가 행복과 기쁨 외에 아무 것도 아니다. 그 이유는 천국의 모든 사람에게 있어서 전체적으로나 세부적으로나 천국을 만드는 것은 주의 신적 사랑에서 나오는 신적 선이기 때문이며, 신적 사랑은 모든 사람의 구원을 바라고 모든 사람이 가장 내적으로 온전히 행복하기를 바라시는 열망이기 때문이다. 그러므로 ‘천국’이라고 하든지, ‘천국의 기쁨’이라고 하든지 같은 말이 된다. Heaven in itself is so full of delights that viewed in itself it is nothing else than blessedness and delight; for the Divine good that flows forth from the Lord’s Divine love is what makes heaven in general and in particular with everyone there, and the Divine love is a longing for the salvation of all and the happiness of all from inmosts and in fullness. Thus whether you say heaven or heavenly joy it is the same thing.
