천국의 결혼

땅 위의 결혼은 인류의 모종밭이기 때문에, 천국 천사들이 가장 신성하게 여기는 것이다. 같은 제목하에 우리가 이미 살펴보았듯이 천국은 인류로 이루어지기 때문이다. 또 결혼이 영적 근원, 즉 선과 진리의 결합에서 나오기 때문이며, 주의 신성이 특히 결혼애 안으로 유입되기 때문이기도 하다. 반면 천사들이 간음을 신성모독으로 여기는 것은, 간음이 결혼애에 전적으로 반대되기 때문이다. 천사들은 결혼에서 선과 진리의 결합인 천국을 보고, 간음에서는 악과 거짓의 결합인 지옥을 보기 때문이다. 따라서 그들은 간음이라는 말만 들어도 멀리 달아난다. 그렇기 때문에 천국은 간음을 즐기는 사람에게는 닫혀버리는 것이다. 천국이 닫히면 사람은 더 이상 신성도, 교회의 신앙적인 것도 전혀 인식할 수 없다.주248 지옥에 있는 모든 사람은 결혼애에 적대적이라는 것을 나는 지옥에서 뿜어내는 영향력에서 느낄 수 있도록 허락받았다. 그 영향력은 마치 결혼을 깨뜨리고 망치려는 끊임없는 노력 같았다. 이것을 보면 지옥의 주된 즐거움은 간음의 즐거움이고, 간음의 즐거움은 천국을 이루는 결합인 선과 진리의 결합을 파괴하는 즐거움임을 알 수 있다. 그러므로 간음의 즐거움은 천국의 즐거움인 결혼의 즐거움에 정반대되는 지옥의 즐거움이다. Marriages on the earth are most holy in the sight of the angels of heaven because they are seminaries of the human race, and also of the angels of heaven (heaven being from the human race, as already shown under that head), also because these marriages are from a spiritual origin, namely, from the marriage of good and truth, and because the Lord’s Divine flows especially into marriage love. Adulteries on the other hand are regarded by the angels as profane because they are contrary to marriage love; for as in marriages the angels behold the marriage of good and truth, which is heaven, so in adulteries they behold the marriage of falsity and evil, which is hell. If, then, they but hear adulteries mentioned they turn away. And this is why heaven is closed up to man when he commits adultery from delight; and when heaven is closed man no longer acknowledges the Divine nor anything of the faith of church.248 That all who are in hell are antagonistic to marriage love I have been permitted to perceive from the sphere exhaling from hell, which was like an unceasing endeavor to dissolve and violate marriages; which shows that the reigning delight in hell is the delight of adultery, and the delight of adultery is a delight in destroying the conjunction of good and truth, which conjunction makes heaven. From this it follows that the delight of adultery is an infernal delight directly opposed to the delight of marriage, which is a heavenly delight.

Those that have experienced delight in adulteries cannot come into heaven (n. 539, 2733, 2747–2749, 2751, 10175). 간음하는 자들은 무자비하고, 종교가 없는 사람들이다 (AC.824, 2747, 2748). Adulterers are unmerciful and destitute of religion (n. 824, 2747, 2748). 간음하는 자들의 머릿속은 더럽다 (AC.2747, 2748). The ideas of adulterers are filthy (n. 2747, 2748). 저세상에서 그들은 불결한 걸 좋아하여 그런 지옥에 있다 (AC.2755, 5394, 5722). In the other life they love filth and are in filthy hells (n. 2755, 5394, 5722). 말씀에 나오는 간음은 선에 더러운 걸 섞는것을, 그리고 매춘은 진리를 뒤집는 걸 의미한다 (AC.2466, 2729, 3399, 4865, 8904, 10648). In the Word adulteries signify adulterations of good, and whoredoms perversions of truth (n. 2466, 2729, 3399, 4865, 8904, 10648).
