천국의 결혼

천국은 인류로 구성되고, 따라서 천사들도 남자와 여자가 있다. 여자는 남자를 위해, 남자는 여자를 위해 창조되었고, 둘은 서로에게 속한다. 이성에 대한 사랑은 양쪽 성에 선천적인 것이다. 그러므로 지상과 마찬가지로 천국에도 결혼이 있음은 당연한 귀결이다. 그러나 천국에서의 결혼은 지상의 결혼과는 많은 면에서 다르다. 따라서 이제 천국에서의 결혼이 어떤 것이고, 그것이 지상의 결혼과 어떻게 다르며, 어떤 점이 비슷한가를 설명하겠다. As heaven is from the human race, and angels therefore are of both sexes, and from creation woman is for man and man is for woman, thus the one belongs to the other, and this love is innate in both, it follows that there are marriages in heaven as well as on the earth. But marriages in heaven differ widely from marriages on the earth. Therefore what marriages in heaven are, and how they differ from marriages on the earth and wherein they are like them, shall now be told.
