※  신적 진리가 천국의 빛이기 때문에, 모든 진리는 천사 안에서나 밖에서나, 또 천국 안에서나 밖에서나 어디서나 빛을 낸다. 그러나 천국 밖의 진리는 천국 안의 진리처럼 빛나지는 않는다. 천국 밖의 진리는 천국 안의 진리처럼 그 본질이 선에서 온 것이 아니기 때문에, 온기가 없고 눈처럼 차게 빛난다. 그러므로 그 차가운 빛은 천국의 빛이 닿으면 즉시 사라진다. 그리고 만일 그 저변에 악이 있었으면 어둠으로 변한다.

신적 진리가 천국의 빛이기 때문에, 모든 진리는 천사 안에서나 밖에서나, 또 천국 안에서나 밖에서나 어디서나 빛을 낸다. 그러나 천국 밖의 진리는 천국 안의 진리처럼 빛나지는 않는다. 천국 밖의 진리는 천국 안의 진리처럼 그 본질이 선에서 온 것이 아니기 때문에, 온기가 없고 눈처럼 차게 빛난다. 그러므로 그 차가운 빛은 천국의 빛이 닿으면 즉시 사라진다. 그리고 만일 그 저변에 악이 있었으면 어둠으로 변한다. 나는 가끔 이런 광경을 목격했고, 진리의 광채에 대한 많은 주목할 만한 일들도 보았으나 여기서는 생략하겠다. As Divine truth is light in the heavens, so all truths wherever they are, whether within an angel or outside of him, or whether within the heavens or outside of them, emit light. Nevertheless, truths outside of the heavens do not shine as truths within the heavens do. Truths outside of the heavens shine coldly, like something snowy, without heat, because they do not draw their essence from good, as truths within the heavens do; therefore that cold light vanishes as soon as the light of heaven falls on it, and if there is evil underneath it, it is turned into darkness. This I have occasionally seen, with many other noteworthy things about the shining of truth, which must be omitted here.
