※ 그래서 성경 말씀에 사랑의 견지에서 본 주님을 해에 비유하고, 신앙의 견지에서 본 주님은 달에 비유한 것이다. 또 같은 이유로, ‘해’는 주님으로 말미암은 주님을 향한 사랑을, ‘달’은 주님으로 말미암은 주님에의 신앙을 의미하는 것이다.

The Sun in Heaven

그래서 성경 말씀에 사랑의 견지에서 본 주님을 해에 비유하고, 신앙의 견지에서 본 주님은 달에 비유한 것이다. 또 같은 이유로, ‘해’는 주님으로 말미암은 주님을 향한 사랑을, ‘달’은 주님으로 말미암은 주님에의 신앙을 의미하는 것이다. 다음 구절들에서 보는 바와 같다. This is why in the Word the Lord in respect to love is likened to the sun, and in respect to faith to the moon; also that the “sun” signifies love from the Lord to the Lord, and the “moon” signifies faith from the Lord in the Lord, as in the following passages:

 

여호와께서 자기 백성의 상처를 싸매시며 그들의 맞은 자리를 고치시는 날에는 달빛은 햇빛 같겠고 햇빛은 일곱 배가 되어 일곱 날의 빛과 같으리라 (사30:26) The light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days (Isa. 30:26).

 

7내가 너를 불 끄듯 할 때에 하늘을 가리어 별을 어둡게 하며 해를 구름으로 가리며 달이 빛을 내지 못하게 할 것임이여 8하늘의 모든 밝은 빛을 내가 네 위에서 어둡게 하여 어둠을 네 땅에 베풀리로다 주 여호와의 말씀이니라 (겔32:7-8) And when I shall extinguish thee I will cover the heavens and make the stars thereof dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not make her light to shine. All luminaries of light in the heavens will I make dark over thee, and I will set darkness upon thy land (Ezek. 32:7, 8).

 

하늘의 별들과 별 무리가 그 빛을 내지 아니하며 해가 돋아도 어두우며 달이 그 빛을 비추지 아니할 것이로다 (사13:10) I will darken the sun in his going forth, and the moon shall not make her light to shine (Isa. 13:10).

 

2곧 어둡고 캄캄한 날이요 짙은 구름이 덮인 날이라 새벽빛이 산꼭대기에 덮인 것과 같으니 이는 많고 강한 백성이 이르렀음이라 이와 같은 것이 옛날에도 없었고 이후에도 대대에 없으리로다, 10그 앞에서 땅이 진동하며 하늘이 떨며 해와 달이 캄캄하며 별들이 빛을 거두도다, 31여호와의 크고 두려운 날이 이르기 전에 해가 어두워지고 달이 핏빛같이 변하려니와 (욜2: 2, 10, 31), 해와 달이 캄캄하며 별들이 그 빛을 거두도다 (욜3:15) The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining. The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood (Joel 2:2, 10, 31; 3:15).

 

12내가 보니 여섯째 인을 떼실 때에 큰 지진이 나며 해가 검은 털로 짠 상복같이 검어지고 달은 온통 피같이 되며 13하늘의 별들이 무화과나무가 대풍에 흔들려 설익은 열매가 떨어지는 것 같이 땅에 떨어지며 (계6:12-13) The sun became black as sackcloth and hair, and the moon became as blood, and the stars fell unto the earth (Rev. 6:12, 13).

 

그날 환난 후에 즉시 해가 어두워지며 달이 빛을 내지 아니하며 별들이 하늘에서 떨어지며 하늘의 권능들이 흔들리리라 (마24:29) Immediately after the affliction of those days the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven (Matt. 24:29).

 

이 구절들에서 ‘해’는 사랑을, ‘달’은 신앙을, ‘별’은 선과 진리에 대한 지식을 의미한다.주91 이것이 어두워지고, 빛을 잃고, 하늘에서 떨어진다는 것은 그것이 없어진 때를 의미한다. 천국에서 주님이 해로 보이시는 것은, 베드로, 야곱, 요한 앞에서 변화하셨을 때, And elsewhere. In these passages the “sun” signifies love, and the “moon” faith, and the “stars” knowledges of good and truth.91 These are said to be darkened, to lose their light, and to fall from heaven, when they are no more. That the Lord is seen as a sun in heaven is evident also from his appearance when transfigured before Peter, James, and John:

 

그들 앞에서 변형되사 그 얼굴이 해 같이 빛나며 옷이 빛과 같이 희어졌더라 (마17:2) That his face did shine as the sun (Matt. 17:2).

 

라고 기록된 것으로도 분명히 알 수 있다.

 

이 제자들은 그들이 몸을 벗어나 천국의 빛 안에 있을 때, 주님의 이런 모습을 뵌 것이다. 이 상응 때문에, 표상 교회에 속했던 고대인들은 거룩한 예배를 드릴 때, 해를 향해 동쪽을 바라보았고, 성전도 동향으로 지었다. These disciples thus saw the Lord when they were withdrawn from the body, and were in the light of heaven. It was because of this correspondence that the ancient people, with whom was a representative church, turned the face to the sun in the east when they were in Divine worship; and for the same reason they gave to their temples an eastern aspect.

 

 

주91. 말씀에서 ‘별들’과 ‘별자리’(constellations, 별무리)들은 선과 진리에 관한 지식을 의미한다. “Stars” and “constellations” in the Word signify knowledges of good and truth (n. 2495, 2849, 4697).
