※ 천국에서 주님이 실제로 해로 나타나시는 것을 나는 단지 천사들에게 듣기만 한 것이 아니라 여러 번 직접 보도록 허락 받았다. 이제 해로서의 주님에 대해서 듣고 본 것을 몇 가지 얘기하겠다.

천국에서 주님이 실제로 해로 나타나시는 것을 나는 단지 천사들에게 듣기만 한 것이 아니라 여러 번 직접 보도록 허락 받았다. 이제 해로서의 주님에 대해서 듣고 본 것을 몇 가지 얘기하겠다. 주님은 천국 안에가 아니라 천국 위에 해로 나타나시는데, 그 위치는 머리 위 수직선상이 아니라 천사들 앞쪽 중간 높이다. 주님은 서로 상당히 떨어진 두 다른 지점에서 볼 수 있다. 한 곳은 오른눈 앞이고, 또 한 곳은 왼눈 앞이다. 오른눈 앞에서 주님은 해와 똑같은 모습으로 보이시며, 그 크기와 밝기가 이 세상 해와 같지만, 왼눈 앞에서는 해가 아니라 달로 보이신다. 그 모습은 이 세상 달처럼 희게 빛나고 크기도 비슷하지만, 더 찬란하고, 또 달 자체와 비슷한 희고 빛나는 많은 작은 달들에 둘러싸인 것처럼 보인다. 주님이 두 다른 지점에 이렇게 다른 모습으로 나타나시는 이유는, 모든 사람이 각자 자기가 주님을 받아들이는 특성에 맞게 주님을 보기 때문이다. 그래서 주님을 사랑의 선 안에 받아들이는 사람들과, 신앙의 선 안에 받아들이는 사람들에게 주님은 다르게 보이신다. 주님을 사랑의 선으로 받아들이는 사람들은 주님을 해로 보며, 그 해는 그들이 주님을 받아들이는 정도만큼 불타는 모습으로 보인다. 이들은 주의 천적 나라 사람들이다. 주님을 신앙의 선으로 받아들이는 사람들은 그분을 받아들이는 정도만큼 희고 광채 나는 달로 주님을 본다. 이들은 주의 영적 나라 사람들이다.주87 That the Lord is actually seen in heaven as a sun I have not only been told by angels, but it has occasionally been granted me to see it; and therefore what I have heard and seen respecting the Lord as a sun I shall be glad to tell in a few words. The Lord is seen as a sun, not in heaven, but high above the heavens; and not directly overhead or in the zenith, but before the faces of the angels at a middle height. He is seen at a considerable distance, in two places, one before the right eye and the other before the left eye. Before the right eye he is seen exactly like a sun, as it were, with a glow and size like that of the sun of the world. But before the left eye he is not seen as a sun, but as a moon, glowing white like the moon of our earth, and of like size, but more brilliant, and surrounded with many little moons, as it were, each of them of similar whiteness and splendor. The Lord is seen so differently in two places because every person sees the Lord in accordance with the quality of his reception of the Lord, thus he is seen in one way by those that receive him with the good of love, and in another by those that receive him with the good of faith. Those that receive him with the good of love see him as a sun, fiery and flaming, in accordance with their reception of him; these are in his celestial kingdom; while those that receive him with the good of faith see him as a moon, white and brilliant in accordance with their reception of him, and these are in his spiritual kingdom.87

 

이것은 사랑의 선이 불에 상응하기 때문이다. 따라서 불은 영적인 의미로 사랑이다. 한편, 신앙의 선은 빛에 상응하고, 빛은 영적 의미로 신앙을 뜻한다.주88 주님이 두 눈앞에 나타나시는 것은, 마음의 내적인 것이 눈을 통해 비치기 때문이다. 오른눈으로는 사랑의 선에서 비롯된 것이, 왼눈으로는 신앙의 선에서 비롯된 것이 비친다.주89 왜냐하면, 천사나 사람에게 있어서 오른쪽에 있는 것은 모두 진리의 근원인 선에 상응하고, 왼쪽에 있는 것은 모두 선에서 비롯되는 진리에 상응한다.주90 신앙의 선은 본질적으로 선에서 비롯된 진리이다. This is so because the good of love corresponds to fire; therefore in the spiritual sense fire is love; and the good of faith corresponds to light, and in the spiritual sense light is faith.88 And the Lord appears before the eyes because the interiors, which belong to the mind, see through the eyes, from good of love through the right eye, and from good of faith through the left eye;89 since with angels and also with men all things at the right correspond to good from which truth is derived, and all at the left to truth that is from good.90 Good of faith is in its essence truth from good.

 

 

주87. 주님은 천국에서 해로 보이시며, 천국의 해이시다. The Lord is seen in heaven as a sun, and is the sun of heaven (n. 1053, 3636, 3643, 4060). 주님은 그분의 천적 나라 사람들한테는 해로 보이시는데, 거기는 그분을 향한 사랑이 다스리는 나라다. 반면, 그분의 영적 나라 사람들한테는 달로 보이시는데, 거기는 이웃을 향한 체어리티와 신앙이 다스리는 나라다. The Lord is seen as a sun by those who are in His celestial kingdom, where love to Him reigns, and as a moon by those who are in His spiritual kingdom, where charity to the neighbor and faith reign (n. 1521, 1529–1531, 1837, 4696). 주님은 오른눈 앞 중간 높이쯤 해로 보이시고, 왼눈 앞에서는 달로 보이신다. The Lord is seen as a sun at a middle height before the right eye, and as a moon before the left eye (n. 1053, 1521, 1529–1531, 3636, 3643, 4321, 5097, 7078, 7083, 7173, 7270, 8812, 10809). 주님은 해와 달로 보이신다. The Lord is seen as a sun and as a moon (n. 1531, 7173). 주님의 신성 그 자체는 천국에 있는 그분의 신성보다 훨씬 높으시다. The Lord’s Divine itself is far above His Divine in heaven (n. 7270, 8760).

 

주88. 말씀에서 ‘불’은 좋은 의미로든, 나쁜 의미로든 사랑을 의미한다. “Fire” in the Word signifies love, both in a good sense and in a bad sense (n. 934, 4906, 5215). 거룩한, 즉 천적인 불은 신적 사랑, 신성한 사랑(the Divine Love)을 의미한다. Holy or heavenly fire signifies the Divine Love (n. 934, 6314, 6832). 지옥불(Infernal fire)은 자아 사랑과 세상 사랑, 그리고 그 사랑들에 속한 모든 정욕(lust)을 의미한다. Infernal fire signifies love of self and of the world and every lust of those loves (n. 1861, 5071, 6314, 6832, 7575, 10747). 사랑은 생명의 불이며, 생명 그 자체는 실제로 사랑에서 나온다. Love is the fire of life and life itself is really from it (n. 4906, 5071, 6032, 6314). ‘빛’은 신앙의 진리를 의미한다. “Light” signifies the truth of faith (n. 3195, 3485, 3636, 3643, 3993, 4302, 4413, 4415, 9548, 9684).

 

주89. 왼눈이 보는 것(The sight of the left eye)은 신앙의 진리에 상응하고, 오른눈이 보는 것은 그것들의 선에 상응한다. The sight of the left eye corresponds to truths of faith, and the sight of the right eye to their goods (n. 4410, 6923).

 

주90. 사람의 오른쪽에 관한 것들은 진리로 말미암은 선과 관련되고, 왼쪽에 관한 것들은 선으로 말미암은 진리와 관련된다. The things on man’s right have relation to good from which is truth, and those on his left to truth from good (n. 9495, 9604).
