천국 전체는 한 사람 모습이다

All Heaven in the Aggregate Reflects a Single Man

천국 가기 전 단계(beneath heaven)에 있는 영들은 천국이 위에만이 아니라 아래에도 있다는 말에 놀란다. 그들도 세상에 사는 사람들처럼, 천국은 위에만 있다고 믿기 때문이다. 그들은 천국의 위치는, 사람의 사지와 내장 기관처럼 위아래로 되어 있고, 또 사지와 내장 기관의 부위들처럼 내부와 외부로 이루어져 있음을 모르고 있다. 따라서 그들은 혼동된 천국 개념을 갖고 있는 것이다. The spirits that are beneath heaven are greatly astonished when they hear that heaven is not only above but below, for they have a like faith and opinion as men in the world, that heaven is nowhere but above, for they do not know that the arrangement of the heavens is like the arrangement of the members, organs, and viscera in man, some of which are above and some below; or like the arrangement of the parts in each of the members, organs, and viscera, some of which are within and some without. Hence their confused notions about heaven.
