천국과 중간 영계와 지옥에 대해 이 책에 기록한 것은, 영적 진리를 배우는 데서 어떤 즐거움도 느끼지 못하는 사람들에게는 모호한 내용이 될 것이다. 그러나 영적 진리를 배우는 데서 즐거움을 찾는 사람, 특히 진리 자체를 목적으로 진리를 사랑하는 사람들은 명백하게 이해할 수 있을 것이다. 사람이 사랑하는 것은 모두 마음속에서 밝히 이해되기 때문이다. 특히 사람이 진리를 사랑할 때는 더욱 그렇다. 모든 진리는 빛을 발하기 때문이다. What has been said in this work about heaven, the world of spirits, and hell, will be obscure to those who have no interest in learning about spiritual truths, but will be clear to those who have such an interest, and especially to those who have an affection for truth for the sake of truth, that is, who love truth because it is truth; for whatever is then loved enters with light into the mind’s thought, especially truth that is loved, because all truth is in light.
