천국의 모든 것과 사람의 모든 것 간에는 어떤 상응이 존재한다

There Is a Correspondence of All Things of Heaven with All Things of Man

이러한 관찰로 ‘속 사람’(the internal man)과 ‘겉 사람’(the external)이 무엇인지도 확실히 알 수 있다. 속 사람은 영적이고, 겉 사람은 자연적이다. 또한 양쪽은 천국이 이 세상과 다른 것처럼 서로 구별된다. 나아가서 겉 사람, 즉 자연적 사람 안에 형성되고 지속되는(take place and come forth) 모든 것은 속 사람, 즉 영적 사람으로부터 나온다. All this shows also what the internal man is and what the external, namely, that the internal is what is called the spiritual man, and the external what is called the natural man; also that the one is distinct from the other as heaven is from the world; also that all things that take place and come forth in the external or natural man take place and come forth from the internal or spiritual man.
