천국의 네 방위

The Four Quarters in Heaven

그렇기 때문에 천국의 동서남북은 각기 그 방위에 사는 천사들의 속성을 상징한다. ‘동’은 분명하게 감지된 사랑과 그 선을, ‘서’는 흐릿하게 감지된 사랑과 그 선을, ‘남’은 밝은 지혜와 지성을, ‘북’은 흐린 지혜와 지성을 의미한다. 천국에서 동서남북이 이런 의미가 있기 때문에, 말씀의 속뜻, 즉 영적 뜻에서도 같은 의미가 있다.주117 Because of this the quarters in the heavens signify such things as pertain to those that dwell in them—the east signifying love and its good clearly perceived, the west the same obscurely perceived, the south wisdom and intelligence in clear light, and the north the same in obscure light. And because of this signification of the quarters in heaven they have a like signification in the internal or spiritual sense of the Word,117

말씀의 내적, 영적 뜻은 천국에 존재하는 것과 전적으로 일치하기 때문이다. since the internal or spiritual sense of the Word is in entire accord with what is in heaven.
